OUR COUNTRYSIDE
The Valley of Carranza, located in the most western part of Bizkaia, 138 square kms. of mountains and valleys, of green prairies and forests. Distributed over 16 parishes, 49 small villages and 2900 souls dedicated mainly to the cattle farming, making it the capital of bovine of Bizkaia. Surrounded by mountains, and shadowed by the mountain range of Ordunte, in the South, (declared Place of Community Interest and Natural Beauty (LIC), and including in the Network Natura 2000). To the North, the Natural Park of Armañón, with the caves of Pozalagua and Ventalaperra and Sopena, an impressive unique cornice feature.
54 km from Bilbao, and 33km to Laredo, we can consider Carranza a bridge between the mountain and the sea, the union between Bizkaia and Cantabria
